Twelve flights a year with the same airline, a November tour in 2005 with fourteen dates from Solingen to Kiel, Norway on top of that, and his own fan club, Haunted Valley, run from a post office box in Derbyshire. Of the festivals he wrote that their “sudden community” had a regenerative power that could hardly be overstated.
