Me and Paul were also remembering how Doll By Doll acquired a reputation as ‘art terrorists' back in the band's beginnings: one year we assembled a hideous calendar full of images depicting poverty war and cruelty.

The band came together in a squatted basement in Formosa Street, Maida Vale. Their road manager Colin delivered the calendar to the fifty most important people in the London music business by throwing the copies into their reception areas. The band went on to make four albums, get thrown off two other bands’ tours, and record a fifth album that has never been released.
