In the press
- Mektig og jordnært – JACKIE LEVEN: The Mystery Of Love Is Greater Than The Mystery Of Death
Arbeiderbladet praises Leven's debut The Mystery of Love … as bigger than most of what is on the market: cinemascopic sound of mandolins and fiddles beside synthesisers and, above all, a voice between crooner, folk and soul singer, “mighty and likeably down-to-earth”.
- Kraftig og lyrisk
Kjell Nordeng praises Leven's solo debut in Nordlands Framtid as powerful in sound and thoughtful in lyrics, one of 1994's records that should not go unnoticed.
- Månadens bästa musik, enligt en föredetting - juli 2022 Abschnitt Jackie Leven
A short paragraph in Nöjesguiden’s monthly round-up on the vinyl reissue of The Mystery Of Love: Forshage calls Leven Scotland’s sharpest singer-songwriter and compares him with Warren Zevon; missing him was largely his own fault.
