- Album and single review Doll By Doll: Doll By Doll (Magnet MAGL 5039) / Main Travelled Roads (MAG 188)
Two trade reviews in the same issue: the third album (producers: Tom Newman and Jackie Leven), the first on Magnet, offers rock with dreamy-romantic lyrics that provokes divided and at times heated reactions – you love it or hate it; some songs sound strangely old-fashioned at first, but grow on repeated listening; with tours and a single it could sell well. The single “Main Travelled Roads” (MAG 188): strong live band, dramatic ballad, pleasant effect, but without a hook that sticks. The gossip column mentions a party at the Venue for the band's Magnet signing.
- Great Lost Albums – Doll By Doll – Doll By Doll
Stuart Maconie presents the third, self-titled Doll by Doll album (Magnet 1981) as his personal “lost album”: uninfluential and barely heard, but loved by him.
