Extensive memorial page by a Trondheim fan (URL slug “til minne 1950–2011”, last edited on 30 November 2025). The larger part is a biography in Norwegian compiled from familiar sources: childhood in Fife as a bullied outsider, early fatherhood at 16, Saint Judas recordings for the BBC in 1969, London years, Doll by Doll (Joe Shaw, David McIntosh, Helen Turner; producers and guests such as Tom Newman and David Gilmour), the attack in 1984 with loss of voice and record contract, heroin addiction, CORE Trust and the Diana episode, the solo career from 1994 with pseudonyms and fan-club albums, Ian Rankin and Jackie Leven Said, the last concert in Edinburgh in August 2011 and death on 14 November 2011. The author notes that band members and a producer dispute Leven's version of the attack, and calls the Dylan encounter disputed.

Personally: Waatsveen saw Leven live several times, describes him as a great storyteller and warm-hearted person, received signed CDs (dedication “Svein, we are the men”) and reproduces two friendly emails from Leven of 2008 as scans. Asked about his favourite place to play, Leven is said to have named the Polish Club in Kirkcaldy. He lists Norwegian venues (Røros, Stokkøya near Åfjord, Kabelvåg, Bergen, Oslo, Drammen), in Trondheim usually the Credo Bar in autumn; at the Credo concert in 2008 Leven told the story of “The Bonnie Earl of Moray”.

Summary in our own words; for the exact wording see the original.
