Besides the dedicated Leven threads, Leven turns up in passing in many Afterword discussions: in “Encore Etiquette” (14 July 2026) JustTim praises Leven for having made it clear there were no encores; in “Scotland – the home of the rain song?” (3 June 2026) “Another Man's Rain”, “The History of Rain” and Sir Vincent Lone's “Feels Like Rain But Isn't” are named, with a pointer to Rankin's novel title; “A Heart Full of Headstones” (10 October 2022) notes that Rankin's book title comes from “Single Father”; in a thread of 26 September 2019 someone links a clip of the “Jackie Leven Band” at the Greyhound in 1983, and Kaisfatdad compares Leven with Michael Marra; “Who do you collect?” (2017), “Colin Hay” and “Honky Tonking with Marcel Proust” (2026) name him as a collectable or as a benchmark for storytelling on stage. The tone: in this forum Leven is a fixed point of reference.
