SAINTS OF THE SHADOW BIBLE: Rebus and Jackie Leven

Publisher's video of a good minute and a half: Rankin says “Saints of the Shadow Bible” is the second book whose title he takes from a Leven line; Leven died while he was planning “Standing in Another Man's Grave”. Their friendship rests on mutual admiration; Leven's songs and his books are about men who cannot show their feelings and make mistakes. The title was one of four or five possible Leven quotations and stands for ghosts, alcohol and Rebus's love of Leven's music; some lines appear in the book as epigraphs.
