The Smelly Flowerpot on Cambridge 105: When The Stars Began To Fall- A Jackie Leven Tribute

In August 2013 Davey Hammond's show “The Smelly Flowerpot” on Cambridge 105 devoted an edition to “the late, great and much missed Jackie Leven”. Under the title “When The Stars Began To Fall – A Jackie Leven Tribute”, Hammond played some of Leven's greatest songs (he writes it was hard whittling the list down) and added exclusive messages and interviews with friends and artists who worked with him, including members of Doll By Doll.

In September 2013 Hammond put the show on Mixcloud in its entirety with extra material, including songs not previously aired; it runs to a little over two and a half hours. He asks listeners to help keep Leven's music and memory alive by sharing, and jokes that the show was produced with his trusty laptop, “some dodgy editing software and several bottles of red wine”. It is dedicated to the memory of his mother and stepfather, who died a few weeks either side of Leven in 2011. The page's tags are “Eternal Warrior” and “Celtic Soul Brother”. The description does not say who exactly speaks in the programme.
