Blog post about the only single by Concrete Bulletproof Invisible (1988): at its core Doll by Doll with Glen Matlock on bass. After a longer Wikipedia quotation on the band's history, the author calls “Big Tears” (Matlock) and “Braid On My Shoulder” (Leven) two strong songs with Matlock's power-pop swing and Leven's powerful voice; he mentions the British 12" with “Good Thing” and the US 12" with “Love Kills”. Finally biographical notes (Botley, Ian Rankin, death in 2011) and a reference to a piece on the discontinued blog “Helpless Dancer” (April 2010). In the comments a reader remembers the B-side about a soldier in Belfast. Tenor: affectionate.
