Jackie Leven – Spring: Man Bleeds In Glasgow/Greetings From Milford

Review of the spring instalment of the “Haunted Year” series: “Man Bleeds In Glasgow” (Water Rats, London, 1998, with the Celtic Soulmen Michael Cosgrave and Steafan Hannigan) and “Greetings From Milford” (Haunted Valley Christmas party 1999 at the British Legion Club, Milford). Praised are “Night Lilies”, “Call Mother A Lonely Field”, covers of Dylan, Lou Reed and Van Morrison, and a “Main Travelled Roads” version that surpasses the original. Verdict: very positive, Leven as a rousing performer. With complete track list.
