Jackie Leven: The Haunted Years – Spring

Danish review of the reissue double CD The Haunted Year – Spring (Man Bleeds in Glasgow with the Celtic Soulmen, Greetings From Milford with the Stornoway Girls). Wamsler acknowledges Leven, the “King of Celtic Soul”, as a very good songwriter and strong singer, but finds him less gripping as a live entertainer; the first CD is too static, the second livelier. Verdict: too few highlights for a double album, mixed; no rating.
