Enthusiastic review: Leven has never made a bad album; with his 18th record for Cooking Vinyl he is in top form, perhaps better than he has been for a long time. The lyrics and melodies have a rare power, carried by one of the best soul voices in the business – whether the subject is drug dealing, immortal love or back yards in Stockholm and Bergen. Guests: Ron Sexsmith, David Thomas, Robert Bly. Recorded in Wales, rehearsed and prepared in California – hence both sunny and heavy with rain. Notice of the concert at Blå Rock on Sunday, 2 March.
