Part of a blog series about bands that fell “between the cracks” of rock history; the Doll by Doll section appears alongside Holly and the Italians, Tonio K., Skids and others. Van Dorston places the band as not fitting the post-punk scene, closer to Van Morrison and Springsteen; “Remember” is rough but promising (a bridge from Free to Gang of Four), “Gypsy Blood” an “unsung classic”, the third album smoother and somewhat less passionate, “Grand Passion” effectively a solo album. Then a brief outline of the following years (drugs, CORE Trust, Princess Diana, Concrete Bulletproof, Men's Movement, return in 1994).
Summary in our own words; for the exact wording see the original.
