Personally coloured short obituary by Jochen König, who later also reviewed Leven. He mentions the knife attack that had robbed him of his voice for almost two years, the heroin addiction that followed and the many albums after his recovery (“true Celtic soul”). He highlights Ian Rankin's appreciation and the live performances: a man with a chair and guitar, latterly mostly with Michael Cosgrave, who often told more than he sang. It ends with thanks and the question of whether the breakthrough had been denied or spared him.
