Jackie Leven Dead at 61

The operator of the US rock discussion site (“Mr. Moderator”) writes on the day of the death (date given by the site: 16.11.2011) that he knew Leven only through John St. Field's 1975 album Control, to which a fellow user had introduced him – a quirky mixture of English hippie folk and pub rock. He says he once asked Leven in vain for an interview for the site and only learned of the duet with David Thomas from the obituary. Four comments: a British user remembers Doll by Doll on John Peel and a concert near him that had been postponed shortly before, another calls Gypsy Blood a great lost album, wrongly marketed as New Wave; one points to the Rebus novels.
