Jackie Leven – Gothic Road

Positive review: a “very solid Jackie classic” about the path of life (and of death), with specific pieces such as “Cornelius Whalen”, “Tilda Swinton” and “Mini Bar”, a guest appearance by Leven's old idol Ralph McTell and Cosgrave also on flute. Big Euro-pop melodic arcs compensate for the “aimless, bluesy noodling” of the last records; Leven returns to his Celtic-melancholic roots.
