Jackie Leven – Only The Ocean Can Forgive/Greek Notebook

Review of the double CD from the “Haunted Year” series (release date according to the page 01.12.2009): three studio tracks (including “Autumn Song”) and six live tracks from Cologne and Frankfurt 2003, including “Barefoot Days” with Kevin Hewick and Joe Shaw; the second CD gathers Walkman sketches from the Greek islands. Turra places Leven between British folk and early Leonard Cohen and calls his cult status “undeserved”. Rating 7/10.
