Troyanovich introduces Leven to an audience from the American correctional system. The piece appears in the newsletter of the New Jersey chapter of the American Correctional Association, Volume 3, Number 1, Spring/Summer 2009, on printed pages 18–19. It opens with the joint project with Ian Rankin and stresses that Leven is hardly known outside Europe.
The text combines a brief career outline with the CORE Trust and focuses particular attention on “Men in Prison”. Troyanovich describes the recording as a solo concert in Bergen prison and points to Leven's introductory words there about addiction and his own experiences. He also explains the reissue of the fan-club material in the series “The Haunted Year” and announces “Troubadour Heart”.
A further focus is the poetry worked into Leven's recordings. The author names numerous poets and recommends several albums as a starting point. For the collection the article is above all evidence of reception outside the usual music press: Leven is presented here through prison concerts, addiction support and poetry. It is not a scholarly study or an effectiveness evaluation of CORE; its biographical claims therefore gain no additional evidential weight.
