Troubadour Heart

Kris Needs exposes the supposed “recently deceased eccentric drinker” Sir Vincent Lone, whose three albums were said to have been available only in a London coffee house, as Leven “in fanciful mood”. For Doll by Doll fans he singles out the new acoustic version of An Honest Woman (originally a 12" B-side, live highlight), also Florin/Tweed, His Arms Are Full Of Broken Things and the Bert Jansch cover Strolling Down The Highway. The album ends with a guest piece by Leven's friend Chris Conway. Verdict: very positive, Leven as a “greatly-underrated talent”.
