Report on the premiere of the “Bestillingsverket” by Knut Buen and Leven at the Kongsberg Jazz Festival (Thursday, 02.07.2009, Christians Kjeller) with an outlook: there is to be a joint record and at least one further concert, this time in Tuddal. The idea came from blues/folk enthusiast Jon Gjerde. The two wanted to be announced as “two old codgers from Scotland and Telemark”; Leven told anecdotes between songs, Buen opened with a poem reading in his birth town. Buen says he had to develop a Hardingfele base layer specially for Leven's songs; the two worked for a few days at the hotel in Tuddal on rhythm and tone. He praises Leven as a “skinnende poet” and would like to continue the collaboration. Programme: springar, gangar, folk tunes and songs, joined by the “red thread of love”. Photo: Fredrik Pedersen.
Summary in our own words; for the exact wording see the original.
