Positive short review from the record page: Hovensjø introduces Leven (58) as a poet and musician who began as John St. Field, was singer of Doll by Doll, has a spell as a junkie behind him and has since delivered one great album after another. The new one is “meget interessant”: Leven mixes styles and borrows other people's music – the guitar solo from Them's “Gloria” in the title track, Willie Dixon's “My Babe” in “Olivier Blues”, a verse from David Childers’ “Heart in My Soul” in “The Dent in the Fender and the Wheel of Fate”; Childers’ original recording closes the album. Partly rocky, partly jazzy, partly folky, partly poem reading; the lyrics have an unsettling false bottom, which Leven's dark, vibrating voice emphasises. Recommendation for a concentrated hour of listening.
Summary in our own words; for the exact wording see the original.
Unn deg en konsentrert stund.
