Dielemans picks up from his 2004 Crossing Border interview in which Leven had announced an album in Beirut. He stresses that the title is misleading – only the title track is a tribute to Cash. Singled out: “The Law of Tide”, sung by Robert Fisher (Willard Grant Conspiracy), contributions from Michael Weston King (“Glad Go Blind”) and the rapper Martin Okasili (“All the Rage”). The experiments with electronics are respected, but many pieces are too long and without effect; the voice saves a lot. Overall tone: mixed.
