Enthusiastic review of the third Kabelvåg concert (Præstengbrygga, Wednesday 21.10.1998, 80 listeners), written twelve hours afterwards. Leven came up the stairs in the half-light shortly before 11 pm and, after the first song and the first anecdote, had the audience in his grip for two hours: gallows humour, a rough, strong voice, excellent guitar playing, wildly funny stories, songs about grief, lost lovers, the lonely muscle mass of the bodybuilder, through to wild Celtic folk tones. A affectionately mocking description of his get-up (worn-out tracksuit bottoms, scuffed patent shoes, a holey denim shirt, white ski socks).
