Ujevnt fra Jackie Leven – Night Lilies (Cooking Vinyl/MNW 1998)

Slightly disappointed review by the same reviewer who had celebrated The Argyll Cycle in 1996: production gleaming, song material good, but signs of stagnation – where Leven previously renewed himself in details, this time it follows familiar paths too much, one constantly has the feeling of having heard it all before. The highlight is the ballad “Empty in Soho Square”, in which Leven sings “most magically”. Verdict: disappoints somewhat, but worth buying.
