Dukker i fint driv

Positive review of the first Doll by Doll concert in 15 years at the basement club Garage: Leven joked that they were four “living dolls”; the band “came into its own”, cheers at every little gesture, Leven with a plastic beer cup. Quality and intimacy were right: in quiet pieces an almost reverent mood, otherwise drive; fruitful guitar dialogues between Leven and Joe Shaw, solid to brilliant bass from Kevin Foster, power from drummer David McIntosh (“McIntern” in the paper). The band appears in hardly any rock history book and was never big, but for its fans it is more than good enough.
