En poetisk grisegutt

Positive review of Leven's first concert in Bodø (Den Siste Glæde, Sunday 13.04.1997, around 150 listeners, just under two hours). He began with “Farm Boy” and the prison story “Shadow in My Eye” from the debut. The stories about beer, whisky and sex were told so casually and decadently that he did not come across as a “dirty old man” but as disarmingly funny; more important, however, was the music: guitar as both guitar and drum, left foot as rhythm machine, voice like a “soulful Highland horn”. Leven, the reviewer says, has gone from critics' darling to audience favourite.
