Ikke lett å være mann – Jackie Leven: «Fairy Tales For Hard Men»

Positive review: after the lost years of intoxication Leven has a lot to say; titles such as “Boy Trapped in a Man”, “Extremely Violent Man”, “Fear of Women” and “Sexual Danger” show that he is wrestling with the male role. Music Celtic in its roots, expressive melodies; quotations from “Yesterday” and “Unchained Melody” fit in, the three pieces with Doll by Doll do not stand out particularly. Praise goes to the poetic sense: Yeats' “Mad as the Mist and Snow” set to music, and at the end Jacobsen's “Solsikke” in Bly's translation as a worthy conclusion.
