Jackie Leven – The Argyll Cycle (Cooking Vinyl/Amigo)

Review in the Oslo city magazine: in the mid-1980s Doll by Doll had a small, enthusiastic Norwegian following, and Grand Passion was the high point. After whisky and heroin Leven is back, “the grand passion” still on the agenda. With a distinctive, romantic voice, melancholy songs and lush moods he is a man Norwegians like; at times it borders on pompous humbug, but it touches something in the sentimental Nordic.
