Short live review of a Monday concert at the Venue in London in June 1981. Hayward wonders that the band, who held on to their own rock 'n' roll for so long, are now getting the “psychedelic” label. New material from the Magnet album was presented, revolving around Leven's folk roots, with explosive feedback guitars from Jo Shaw. “Main Travelled Roads” was given a prominent place, but the full house responded more strongly to harder numbers such as “I Never Saw The Movie” and “The Street I Love”. Tone: benevolent; the strong following should finally be rewarded with album success.
