Trade review of the third album (production Tom Newman/Jackie Leven): quite a U-turn for the band, who are now continuing their search for media acceptance at Magnet. They now sound fashionably psychedelic, with ethereal guitar harmonics and steady Teardrop Explodes-style drumming, but cannot hide the power in the voices of Leven and “Joe” Shaw, which make even melancholy material sound urgent. That Doll by Doll were among the first in this genre might help them this time. Tone: benevolent. In the airplay overview of the same issue, “Main Travelled Roads” appears in the playlists.

Summary in our own words; for the exact wording see the original.
