Gypsies' Brood – Doll By Doll: 'Gypsy Blood' (Automatic K 56755)

Contemporary review of the second album by Chris Westwood, which at the same time defends the debut: “Remember” was slated by form-obsessed critics although it was a very powerful record of disturbing honesty. “Gypsy Blood” seems almost relaxed on the surface but is subtle and deceptively accessible; Westwood singles out Jo Shaw's “Endgame”, which is about Shaw's experiences of the heroin scene.
