Jackie Leven – Straight Outta Caledonia: Album Review

Barlass presents Leven as an artist loved by connoisseurs but overlooked by the wider public, quotes Ian Rankin's praise from the liner notes and summarises the biography. He goes through the titles (“The Sexual Loneliness of Jesus Christ”, “Heartsick Land”, “Dagenham Dream”, “Irresistible Romance”, “Live or Die”, “Single Father”) and praises the voice as one of the richest you could hear. Very positive tone, no rating.
