Jackie Leven would have been 65 today

Birthday thread (18/19.06.2015) with twelve replies: toasts, favourite songs and links (including “Desolation Blues” live in Glasgow, c. 1997). SteveT had a ticket for Leven's last planned Birmingham concert, which was cancelled about a week before his death, and looks forward to an evening of Leven songs by Michael Weston King and Michael Cosgrave in July 2015. retropath2 says Leven lived near his parents' house on the Hampshire coast and that he searched for him in village pubs in vain; Gary recalls that when Leven died in 2011 he had posted the quotation about the warrior who finds beauty in his wounds. duco01 links Graeme Thomson's Guardian blog of 16.06.2015.
