Jackie Leven 1950-2011

Short blog entry by the music journalist and Radio Ulster presenter Stuart Bailie. He recalls a Leven performance at London's Borderline in a kilt with his own whisky, Doll by Doll as a post-punk cult band (Stuart Maconie was said to have been a big fan) and the anecdote with which Leven answered Mike Scott in 1986 when Scott complained about the rock-star life – according to Bailie honoured in the sleevenotes of “Fisherman's Blues”. In 1992 Bailie listened for an afternoon in west London to Leven's stories about addiction and the CORE Trust.
