They begin on the evening of 14.11.2011 (Brussels, Kassel) and peak on 15 and 16.11.; they are written from Scotland and England, Germany (Bochum, Lauterbach, Münster, Düsseldorf, Essen, Frankfurt, Hannover, Kiel, Krefeld, Bremen, Dresden), Norway (Egersund, Oslo, Trondheim, Drammen), Sweden, the Czech Republic, the Netherlands, Belgium, Northern Ireland, Australia, New Zealand and the USA, some in German. The tone is grief and gratitude for songs, voice, guitar playing and above all the stories; many drink to him (“white bar in Heaven”, “best bar in the sky”). Many only heard of it days or weeks later, and some did not know he had been ill.

Alongside these are memories from people in his circle. Several write about the Doll by Doll period: visits to the band's squat in Maida Vale or “Clifton Villas” in 1979, where the band, with friends and crew, took in young fans; a man from Edinburgh remembers how Doll by Doll, as support for Hawkwind, raided their catering before Hawkwind walked past in capes and silver helmets; others mention concerts at the Blue Note in Derby (around 1980) and at Brollies, Richmond (around 1976?). The brother of a Doll by Doll musician announces that the latter will be at the funeral. Dan Britton, a member of the backing band The Stornoway Girls, thanks Leven for the collaboration and for including a song of his on When The Bridegroom Comes. A musician from Wakefield was proud to have stood on stage with Leven; a harmonica player recalls duo performances in Bournemouth and his contribution to “Uptown”; a reviewer says that Deborah Greenwood had already sent him Control for review in 1974. An old companion recalls a Norway tour in 1997 and the WOMAD performance on the day of Princess Diana's death, as well as the CORE years. Further traces: a concert in “your Kingdom of Fife” in March 2011 before 53 people, Robyn Hitchcock dedicated a song to Leven at a concert in Shoreditch, BBC Radio 4 featured him on 20.11. in Last Word, a Dutchman watches the 2004 Rockpalast recording, an Australian recalls performances in Sydney, at WOMADelaide, in the Barossa Valley and at WOMAD New Zealand.

Summary in our own words; for the exact wording see the original.

Now the chief of our clan has left the stage.

Fan from Hannover, 18.11.2011.
