Gothic Road – Jackie Leven (Rubrik „Musikk – Vurdert av Camilla Sørhus“)

Positive review: the “friend of Norway”, with a new release every eighteen months plus collaborations and bootlegs, is one of Britain's most industrious artists. Above all he is an outstanding storyteller whose lyrics balance on the very edge of poetry, delivered in a deep voice with sharp humour. Mentioned are the Russian choir (brothers of Kursk victims), Ralph McTell and “Hotel Mini Bar” about the loneliness of touring life; “John Paul Getty's Silver Cadillac” is a classic Leven narrative that grips even after many plays.
