Blå Leven

Disappointed review of the concert at the full Præstengbrygga in Kabelvåg on Thursday, 29.09.2005; the support act was Hot Club de Norvège. Everything was as on every Kabelvåg visit – vodka glass and beer on the floor, guitar on the belly, dry quips – and the singing impeccable (comparison with Cornelis Vreeswijk). But after barely an hour and long soundchecks many left the hall or gathered outside in the smokers' corner; perhaps the jazz fans left after the support act, perhaps Leven lacked energy after a long tour of northern Norway. Among other songs he sang “Universal Blue”.
