The video “Jackie Leven 2004 Live or Die” by the user “dhatboy” is a shaky handheld clip (“Shaking due to beer I think”), the sound of which the uploader nonetheless calls not too bad for a camera clip. According to the description, Leven was playing that night at a folk-club pub, and the BBC asked if he would present the “Folk Club of the Year” award to the pub during the night's show. It was aired on television on BBC Four the next night (31 January 2004). The uploader recalls wondering at the time what the two girls with a high-tech camera were filming for, and by chance watching the folk awards the following night. The video's tags include “Rockingham Arms” and “Rotherham”, pointing to the venue; the text does not name the club.
The uploader also writes personally: he misses “the big man” and chatting with him at gigs, which began at the Otley Folk Festival in 1998; a friend, Richard McFarlane, had told him he would like him. He then caught him for many years in Yorkshire and sometimes further afield, a New Year's (or Christmas) show in Belper being “a great night”. He has not got over Leven's passing and posts one of a few clips from the night that he managed to save on an old hard drive. The video's content itself was not viewed; the BBC broadcast was not found.
Summary in our own words; for the exact wording see the original.
Jackie was playing that night and the BBC asked if he would present the 'Folk Club of the year' award to the pub during the nights show.
I really miss the big man and chatting with him at gigs that started at the Otley folk festival back in 1998.
