CD: Jackie Leven – Shining Brother, Shining Sister

Very positive review: after years of drug problems Leven seems to be staying on the “narrow path” and is more alert than ever; his slightly alternative “pop noir” works almost perfectly. He recalls Lou Reed a little, but offers more intensity and magic; the creative production is full of surprises, and the lyrics range from tender love to black everyday realism to bizarre humour.
