Thread: Jackie Leven (Topic 1)

Oldest Leven thread in the forum of the German Rolling Stone, 29 posts from August 2002 to March 2024 (two pages). It begins with fans compiling their own best-ofs and assessments of the production; people discuss whether Leven would be better off staying unknown. In 2003 people are waiting for the tour with Midnight Choir and Richard Thompson presented by the magazine and for the promised Doll by Doll reissue. One user remembers a poorly attended Doll by Doll reunion concert in the mid-nineties at which Alan Bangs was said to be in the audience. The user “hasenschnitte” announces in February 2003 a new German Yahoo group on Leven and posts the March 2003 dates (Tuttlingen, Tübingen, Frankfurt, Essen, Bremen, Kiel, Singwitz, Hannover, Bielefeld). In August 2003 a concert recording on Radio Eins is discussed, in September 2005 a studio guest appearance on Radio Eins about “Elegy for Johnny Cash”, and a user recalls Leven's appearance at the Nuremberg Bardentreffen in 2001. After his death “stefane” announces the NDR Info obituary “Elegie für den Celtic Soulman” by Uli Kniep (14.01.2012) with the announcement text; “thomas-zimmer” posts his own concert review of the appearance at the Jubez in Karlsruhe in 2008 (Olivier story, “Museum of Childhood”, Roberto Duran song). Last post: a pointer to the Radio Bremen Zwei programme of 01.04.2024 with the recording from the Sendesaal Bremen of 29.03.2004.
