Italian review (mark 8) with a biographical introduction (Fife, his mother's blues, Control as John St. Field, Doll by Doll, Charisma singles 1983, mugging, separation, heroin, return in the late 80s). Guaitamacchi goes through the album track by track, names “Exit Wound” as the only weaker song and “The Sexual Loneliness Of Jesus Christ” as the best; he mentions that the Italian label S4 translated the lyrics of this song into Italian, and praises the Frost setting and “Billy Ate My Pocket”. Conclusion: ten masterly songs in a simple, elegant sound setting.
