The fan site's “Unofficial Jackie Leven guestbook” began on 01.01.2001 with a test entry by the webmaster (“PT”, Italy) and collected almost 100 entries by the end of 2001. At first fans praise the new site, which they say they found through the eGroup mailing list; organiser Mick Nolan is thanked, and the webmaster is addressed as “Paul”. He replies himself, for instance on the quality of the RealAudio samples (deliberately low, to encourage purchase) and with a forwarded message from Deborah Greenwood (24.08.2001) explaining the delays with the Haunted Valley CD Munich Blues and the bootleg Deep in the Heart of Nowhere (live at The Greys) by new British CD licensing procedures.
The entries trace the concert year: a tour with Andy White and Michael Weston King in Belgium and the Netherlands (AB Brussels, Assen, Eindhoven, Haarlem/Solingen relocation), Fareham, Winchester (Tower Arts Centre, 06.04.), Kirkcaldy (Path Tavern, 14.06.) and Dundee (15.06.), the Mirror Man concerts, a free concert on Southsea Common (29.07.), the 12 Bar Club with three new songs, Southampton, Leicester (The Musician), Jim's Cafe in Colne, two evenings at the Edinburgh Fringe, Stockholm and the German tour in October with Ron Sexsmith (Bremen, Bielefeld, Krefeld, Münster, Frankfurt, Hannover), with memories of the stage stories about Heineken, the “Schweinehund” and Sting's alleged helicopter crash. Fans from Australia recall performances in the Barossa Valley and at WOMAD, and a New Zealand visit in November is announced. A former DJ and stage manager at London's Dingwalls (1979–83) calls Doll by Doll a crowd favourite; fans ask about the announced Doll by Doll reissues and a best-of. The musician Chris Connelly writes from Chicago that Leven's songs saved him; Ecki Stieg links to a German interview on grenzwellen.com, and Liam Carson announces his interviews for the Irish Examiner and Irish News on the Ireland tour. On 09.12. a fan reports on the Christmas concert in Milford with the “Girls” (The Stornoway Girls).
Summary in our own words; for the exact wording see the original.
