Telephone interview on the day of the concert in Tromsø (Blå Rock Café). Leven, with a cold, promises old songs (“easier to play”) alongside new ones. On the theme of Defending Ancient Springs he says that the “straight arrow of time” of the modern world troubles him; he likes the idea that time runs in a circle. The album is about the water you have in your body at birth and which is gradually replaced; all your life you long for it, and at death you should have the same water back. Where the idea came from he no longer remembers; he is interested in a holistic view of body and health.

On the tour: the Oslo concert went well, 260 spectators, he played “bloody well” but was nervous – it was his first concert since a gig in Pittsburgh in December; after a flu infection he even had to go to hospital. The day before had been the second tour concert, in Bergen. With its snow, Tromsø reminds him of the Scotland of his childhood, he would like to come in summer one day; he values Egon (Holstad) of the Blå Rock and the Grand Hotel, where he always stays, especially its bar.

Summary in our own words; for the exact wording see the original.

Tromsø minner meg om Skottland da jeg var liten.
