Short label interview on Night Lilies: Leven explains the album title as a memory of a smell that takes him back to his 17th year, and the cover (Ferdinand Keller's homage to Böcklin's “Isle of the Dead”). He raves about the “Disastrodrome” festival at London's South Bank Centre under David Thomas and announces a duet EP with Thomas (“You've Lost That Lovin' Feeling”). He explains his success in Germany and Scandinavia by saying that music there is about “life, death and beauty”, in Britain about lifestyle. He pokes fun at major labels (the £200 lunch), plus joke answers (barman in Ireland; card game in a high-security prison with Rev Hammer and Martin Goldschmidt).
Summary in our own words; for the exact wording see the original.
in Germany and Scandinavia it's more about life, death and beauty
