Youth-pages interview shortly before the release of Night Lilies (Monday 14.09.). Friestad gives Leven's place of residence as the small town of Titchfield between Southampton and Portsmouth. Leven on his release concert in Oslo in a small club for only 40 people: hard work, but good, people told him afterwards that the songs had made them cry. The album is about buried, partly painful memories that you only get rid of when you learn from them. He is self-taught, tunes and plays the guitar in his own way and “cannot play normally at all”; in the studio he is “quite military”, but open to suggestions. He thinks in images and then looks for words for them; his lyrics contain no humour, but “jokes”. Favourite song: “Burning the Box of Beautiful Things”. Appended is a short review (disappointing at first, then growing, “Celt/Soul” after Q).
Summary in our own words; for the exact wording see the original.
Jeg er en ganske militær person når jeg er i studio
