Preview of Leven's first Australian tour (July 1998) with a telephone interview. Leven looks forward to the country, holds out the prospect of a return with his band The Celtic Soul Men to the Womadelaide festival in February, and explains his greater popularity in Europe by saying that he went to Berlin, Madrid and South America when young and lost touch with Britain. Dunstan quotes the blurb of the Cooking Vinyl sampler Cooking Rhythms (with an alleged Salman Rushdie quotation about the whisky Leven's Lament) and reports that Cooking Vinyl is planning a Doll by Doll box with the working title “Swimming In A Lonely Pool”; Leven is considering an album of Tim Hardin songs. He is bringing For Peace Comes Dropping Slow and EPs and announces material from the just-finished Night Lilies. Closing concert: Governor Hindmarsh, Adelaide, Thu. 30 July (1998).
