The episode list of the ZDF music show “Disco” (Wikipedia) records Doll by Doll with “Main Travelled Roads” for episode 125 of 19 October 1981. The same programme featured, according to the list, Matchbox (“Love’s Made a Fool of You”), Tony Holiday (“Rio”), Kirsty MacColl (“There’s a Guy Works Down the Chip Shop Swears He’s Elvis”), Roland Kaiser (“Dich zu lieben”), Soft Cell (“Tainted Love”), Aneka (“Japanese Boy”), Lonzo (“Della und der Dealer”), Leif Garrett (“Uptown Girl”) and The Teens (“New York”); the dancers named are Ramona Wulf, Janina Richter, Elke Kast and Olivia Pascal.

A three-minute recording titled “Doll By Doll – Main Travelled Roads 1981” has been on YouTube since 4 February 2014 (channel “fritz51332”, length 3:03); its description contains only the song text. The link between the clip and the “Disco” episode follows the episode list. As usual on the show, it was probably a playback performance. Leven later said the band appeared on television shows in “strange places like Munich” alongside Sting and Kirsty MacColl, which fits this episode.
